How it started
In December 2017, Hayley and her father, Stephen, went on a tour of Hayley’s new workplace: Edge FM Wangaratta.
Lui had been working in the new role as Program Director for two months.

“I was excited to start a new adventure and get into Radio, but Wangaratta was a long way from home”

“One of the managers said ‘Don’t make friends with the staff. You’re their boss, you’re not paid to be friendly’”

Hayley started out as matchmaker…
Hayley tried introducing Lui to three of her friends, and tried giving dating advice.
And was also on the hunt herself…
Hayley quickly realised the Wangaratta dating pool wasn’t quite as deep as Melbourne.
Then as plans for a innocent weekend in Melbourne were made…
Neither knew it would be the beginning of something incredible and life-changing.
Both were beginning to test the waters…
And by March 2018, teeny-tiny sparks were starting to fly.
Eventually Lui took the plunge in April …
But the stakes were high, and Hayley didn’t want to let bad luck or superstition get in the way of anything.
It wasn’t long…
And in May, Lui changed his Facebook status, despite the pair not “officially” dating.
Finally, on June 16 2018…
